Hello, fellow Asterisk Enthusiast – Welcome to Orlando,
What a momentous time to be at AstriCon!!
It was only a few weeks ago that Sangoma and Digium joined forces and while this has all sorts of advantages, perhaps the greatest one is that Asterisk (the most widely used Open Source communications platform in the world) and FreePBX (the most popular User Interface and configuration manager for Asterisk) are now ‘under the same roof’.
Congratulations on joining with other like-minded Open Source Communications community members from many different countries and continents to form the largest group of its kind on the planet – and we’re all here to listen, learn, laugh and love around Asterisk, FreePBX and the other Open Source Communications projects represented.
This year, in addition to Asterisk and FreePBX, we’re delighted to have participation from FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, OpenSIPS, Homer, and Issabel too.
We have two fantastic keynotes lined up for you. On Wednesday Simon Woodhead (Simwood) will be talking about security and related subjects in his speech ‘Default Distrust: Why we must prioritize privacy’ and on Thursday Deb Bryant (Red Hat) will be reviewing how things have changed and looking to the future in her speech ‘Open Source in Telecom: What a Difference a Decade Makes’.
Our conference schedule is packed with excellent sessions from Community Members just like you, who will share the things they have done, the lessons they have learned and useful hints and tips to make whatever you do with Asterisk and FreePBX (or any of the other projects covered) even better.
The show floor is heaving with a wide variety of products and services from the Asterisk and FreePBX ecosystem, from individual system components to complete solutions, diagnostic applications to connectivity providers – and everything in between. So be sure to visit and find out what each company represented can do for you.
We have an extra special ALL-CONFERENCE panel session on Tuesday at 3.20pm – it’s the ATA (no, not Analog Telephone Adapter!) It’s ‘Ask Them Anything’ and it’s a panel made up of key people from both Digium and Sangoma ready to answer any questions you may have about the Asterisk and FreePBX projects, or anything else you may wish to ask. It’s something you won’t want to miss!
